Christmas Card #2

Here is another card from my recent Christmas Card class. It features the single stamp Dasher that you can get for only $8.95 - what a great stamp! I used silver embossing powder on basic black cardstock to make Dasher "pop." But the real WOW factor on this card is the awesome silver glimmer paper - isn't is great? Think this card was the favorite of most at the class. I also used the Snow burst textured embossing folder on the strip of basic black that is underneath the whisper white top note die cut. Real red is the card base.

Christmas Card Class #1

Good evening - here is a look at one of the cards we did recently at my Christmas card class. I used a strip of the beautiful DSP from the Holiday Mini - Holly Berry Bouquet. Below it I embossed a piece of Wild Wasabi with the Finial Press embossing folder - didn't it turn out pretty? Layered those pieces onto Real Red cardstock and then layered that onto Chocolate Chip. Also wrapped a piece of Real Red 5/8 satin ribbon around the card. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. Underneath I used a strip of the Basic Pearls. I used my Decorative Label, Scalloped oval, and large oval punches. I love this layout - you can make any type of card using it.

Christmas Wreath

Good morning - so what do you think of the wreath? This was my first attempt at making anything like this...and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! I will admit it took me over 8 hours to finish!! I was fortunate enough to have 2 extremely creative and fun ladies come over and we were able to give each other suggestions and moral support - thanks Vicki and Wendy! But the most important thing that both ladies brought.....A SCORING TOOL!! It is a must for a project such as this to make all of those beautiful rosettes, lollies, or whatever you want to call them. I think I will be ordering Stampin UP!'s new Simply Scored Scoring Tool as a birthday present for myself!!
I used DSP from the Holly Berry Bouquet paper pack in the Holiday mini as well as real red DSP and wild wasabi and chocolate chip card stock. I had fun using several different embellishments such as glimmer brads, basic rhinestones, antique brads, designer buttons, rhinestone brads, and baker's twine.

Snowman Box

Good afternoon - isn't this snowman adorable?? My great friend and upline Karen made these last year for a class and I had to copy! Behind the top note die cut is a fancy favor box in bashful blue. A whisper white top note is attached to the front and back of the box and then half of a basic black top note is attached on the top. I used the 5-petal punch to punch out a real red and an old olive flower for the hat. I also added a real red button with some white baker's twine tied in the middle. I sponged bashful blue around the edges to make him look a little more "snowy". A packet of cocoa mix and a cello bag of mini marshmallows fits perfectly inside for a wonderful winter treat.

Christmas Fun

Good morning! Here are 2 fun projects I made the other day. The first one uses the fancy favor Big Shot die. I used the colors Old Olive and Real Red for a traditional holiday look. I wrapped around some DSP and then added two 5-petal flower punches and put a cool red rhinestone brad in the center.
I used my new Box #2 die for the second project and I am really happy with how it turned out. The box is actually a bit bigger than I expected. I attached a piece of whisper white cardstock that I ran thru the Big Shot with the new snowflake embossing folder. I also covered some nugget candy with DSP, added it to a cello bag, tied it with the awesome 1/8 taffeta ribbon in whisper white and put it inside. Now I've got a cute gift to give!

New Technique

Hello everyone. Here's a card with a new technique I recently learned. I first cut out in whisper white a top note die cut using the Big Shot. Then I inked up the front cover of the Finial Press embossing folder using Crumb Cake ink. I ran the top note thru the Big Shot with the inked up embossing folder and voila! Isn't it awesome? The other colors used were soft suede and regal rose. Stamp sets used were Four Frames and Teeny Tiny Wishes. I've now done this card in several different color combos and I just love it. I got the idea off Stampin Connection.

October 25

Hello!! It has been about a month since I've posted...where has all that time gone?? This card is one of my new favorites. It uses the DSP Berry Blossoms and the colors in this pack are great. I used Calypso Coral as my base. The Four Frames set worked perfectly here with the polka dots on the stamp and I love how most all of the phrases in Teeny Tiny Wishes work so great with the Decorative Label punch. Hope to be posting more often!

Card Class #1

Good afternoon. I had five lovely ladies over this morning for a card class and this was the favorite. The colors used are lucky limeade, wisteria wonder, elegant eggplant, baja breeze, and whisper white. The flowers were stamped using Versamark and then punched out with the Fancy Flower punch. They were layered on top of a whisper white top note and parts of the Little Leaves sizzlits die were attached with glue dots as well. Three basic pearls and some wisteria wonder ruffled ribbon were added to make this card pop. I had several different stamps they could choose from to stamp on the bottom of the white top note - most chose one of the "friend" stamps I have. What a great card to send to a special friend!

Grateful

Good morning. I have a teenager in my house!!! My son turns 13 today -unbelievable how fast time flies! Thought I'd post this new card I Cased from A-MARIE off Stampin Connection since I am soo grateful to have my son in my life.
I used Crumb cake as the base, then layered early espresso that I ran thru the big shot with the square lattice embossing folder. On top is a piece of cajun craze that went thru the big shot with the top note die and then a new technique I learned....just turn the paper sideways and run it thru again! You get more of a square sized top note - love this! Used the big stamp from the Day of Gratitude set and inked it with cajun craze and then went over the edges with an espresso marker. Added a brad from the antique brads collection, popped it up with a few dimensionals and what a great card!

Happy Harvest

Isn't this card adorable?!? It uses the great stamp set Loads of Love and the pumpkins in the back are from the accessories set. I CASE'd this card from Laura Love on stampin connection. To make the truck I stamped the image onto a piece of Frightful Sight DSP and then cut it out. I also stamped the image onto whisper white cardstock, colored the tires, bumpers, and pumpkins, and then adhered the paper truck on top of it. Much easier than I expected as I had never done this paper piecing technique before. The cajun craze, early espresso, and old olive were great colors together and make me excited for fall!

Halloween fancy favor boxes

Here are some cute fancy favor die cut boxes I made the other day for Halloween. On the black one I used a stamp from the set Batty for You and some Frightful Sight DSP. For the old olive one, I used the absolutely adorable halloween owl from the set Warmest of Wishes which is a hostess set out of the new holiday mini catalog. I used a different piece of DSP from the Frightful Sight collection. Tied up a medium sized cello bag with some matching ribbon and viola! A cute halloween gift!

Christmas cards for OWH

Here are 4 cards my PEO group will be making to send to Operation Write Home for soldiers who are stationed overseas. My goal is to get 100 cards made at our next meeting. I might use one or two of these at my Christmas card class in early November as well. I really like the ornament card that uses the colors Lucky Limeade and Rich Razzleberry - they look great together. And Frosty has been around forever but he is still one of my absolute favorite stamps. I will keep him forever!

Sunday

Good evening. Here is a cute card I CASED from the spanish version of the Idea Book and Catalog. It uses 2 new in-colors that I love - lucky limeade, and island indigo. I also used melon mambo and pink pirouette. I love the new in-color polka dot brads - isn't it cute right in the middle of the flower? The sentiment is from the set Happy Greetings which is in the summer mini that is about to retire.

Thursday

Good morning! Hopefully it will be another beautiful day in the Portland area. This beautiful card was cased from Joellyn Whitehead on Stampin Connection - aren't the colors great together? The colors are wild wasabi, crumb cake, very vanilla, and marina mist. The set used is the retired hostess set Because I Care. I don't normally add things like the mini library clips since I mail most of my cards but it was just too cute not to add. I will be hand delivering this card or giving it away as a gift. Have a great day!

Wednesday August 24

Good morning! Here is a gorgeous card I CASED from Stampin' connection - colors used are Daffodil Delight and Almost Artichoke. I used the framed tulips embossing folder on the white cardstock and I love the look it gives the card. I also think the basic pearls on the butterflies really adds to the card as well. You could use any sentiment on here but I chose one from the awesome teeny tiny wishes set and it fit perfectly.

August 18

Hello everyone -sorry I have been so bad about posting but it has been a very busy and hectic summer! Here is a cute card that I CASED from the Stampin connection magazine that uses all of the awesome new In-colors and the adorable polka dot brads that match.
This card I cased from Sarah Wills at www.sarahsinkspot.com - check out her blog - she does amazing things. Love the color combo - cherry cobler, early espresso, and so saffron. I don't make cards this size very often but enjoyed this one so much that I think I will be making more of this size soon! Our small open-end envelopes are a perfect fit for this type of card.
This great summer card was cased from Linda Aarhus and was so much fun to make. I used the polka dot embossing folder to give the ice cream bar a little pop. Think I might make a creamsicle card now! Yummy!

Wednesday, July 20

Hi everyone. Both of these cards were made using paper from the Sale-a-brations Ice cream parlor pack. I also used the self adhesive die cuts from the pack on the first card. I used the Sweet Summer stamp set - also SAB - on the second card. Both were easy, simple cards that could be used for many different occasions. I got both ideas off the Stampin Connection site.

Thursday July 7

LOVE this card! Colors used are crumb cake, early espresso, daffodil delight, poppy parade, pink pirouette, and old olive. This was a lot of work for me but definitely worth it! Got this idea from Stampin' Up!'s Stampin connection website.
These turned out cute too. First one uses crumb cake and marina mist - second one uses rich razzleberry and old olive. I ran the top note thru the big shot with the square lattice embossing folder. I also ran the middle flower thru the big shot with the finial press embossing folder. This idea came from Tami Gilmartin.

Friend card

Good afternoon everyone - hope you are enjoying the weekend.
The color scheme for this card is Night of Navy, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight. I used the I heart Hearts set on page 46 of the catalog and I ran the Daffodil card stock through the Big Shot using the Finial Press embossing folder. Hope you like it!

Polka dot card

This is my new favorite card - I love it because it looks great in many different color combos. I gave a set of these as thank you cards for a friends baby shower today. They look great no matter what sentiment you put on them. I just punched out several different sized circles, adhered them to a top note die cut with my Big Shot, then ran the top note through the Big shot again with the square lattice embossing folder. I then tied 1/8 taffeta ribbon and added a sentiment punched out with the word window punch which was then adhered to card stock punched with the modern label punch. Cute!! Colors used on this card were wild wasabi, pretty in pink, and early espresso.

Thanks for being a friend

Here is a cute card I made yesterday using the owl punch - it was only my second time using it - I need to use it more often! I think he is adorable on a card. I cased this card off Stampin Connection. I love the greeting - it is from the Summer Mini catalog that is out right now. The set is called Happy Greetings on page 26 - very versatile! I also used the Square Lattice embossing folder with my Big Shot on the white card stock. I added a flower brad to finish the card off.

Happy Birthday Cards

Hi all - been a few weeks since I've posted or had the opportunity to make any new cards - crazy busy with baseball/softball. Here is a card I CASE'd from Heidi Boos at stuckonstampin.blogspot.com - you should check out the cards on her blog - cute!
For the first one I used Poppy Parade as the base color. The DSP is Sunny Garden and the squares were punched out using the scallop square punch. I then put a cute flower brad in the corner of one of the squares. The squares are also popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.
I used Tempting Turquoise as the base for this second card. The DSP is Pawsitively Prints II - this is a great set of paper. Sorry the photo didn't turn out better - it sort of washes out the color.

Sunday

Good evening! What a beautiful day here in Oregon - so nice to see the sun for a change! I love this new card that I CASE'd from Sarah Wills - you should check out her blog at sarahsinkspot.com - she makes amazing cards and offers tons of free tutorials. I love anything with the decorative label punch - and this was a fun way to use it. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is Springtime Vintage and the stamp sets are teeny tiny wishes and the new 4 Frames set that we got a sneek peek of and will be in the new 2011- 2012 Idea Book and Catalog that will come out July 1. I hope you like it.

Saturday

Here is a simple birthday card I came up with the other day using the clear embossing powder - which I LOVE! This was my first attempt at using it and I was really pleased with the results. I love the tone on tone look - especially on the Pacific Point card stock.

Thursday

Good evening. Another baseball rainout tonight so I decided to put my free time to good use stamping. And what did I decide to stamp? A baseball card of course! I do love the PNW but this rain has just got to stop!!! Both of my kids happen to have green and black uniforms this season so I used handsome hunter (retired color), basic black, and crumb cake for this card. I am going to put them in their rooms tomorrow night after they go to bed to wish them good luck in their games this weekend - it is supposed to be sunny but we'll see about that!

Wednesday

Here are 3 more cards that I made with grab bag pieces. The colors are crumb cake, real red, old olive, and more mustard. For the top card I used a stamp from the level 1 hostess set punch potpourri. For the bottom 2 cards I used stamps from Thanks for Caring out of the Occasions Mini Catalog. Hadn't had the chance to use these great stamps yet so was happy to finally put them to use!!

2 new cards

Good afternoon everyone. My daughter has been home sick the past 2 days so I've had a chance to catch up on some cards. On this first one I finally used the Birthday Bakery hostess set. I used supplies for both of these cards out of a grab bag I just got. The colors are certainly celery, rose red, and tempting turquoise. I also used the color spritzer tool for the background on the celery cardstock but it didn't show up very well in the photo.
This card was created using the Create a Cupcake set that I just love. I spritzed the cupcake top with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and it really gave the card a special "pop".

Thursday

Hello everyone. Here's 2 new cards I made today. Both were put together using different parts of some grab bags that Stampin' UP! is offering right now. Most of the parts came from a Simply Sent Card Kit from 2009.
I love the color combo of Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Old Olive, and Close to Cocoa.

New Cards

Hi everyone - it has been awhile since I posted anything.....been busy with our new Goldendoodle puppy Champ! It's like having a toddler all over again - I'm exhausted! The first photo is of a baby shower invite and favor boxes I've made for a baby shower for a close family friend. I love early espresso and marina mist together.
The next card is similar to one I did for a class - I've just changed the colors and added a greeting. I'm sending this one in for a "anything goes" swap.
I made this one a few weeks ago while I was visiting my sister in Spokane - I love melon mambo, rich razzleberry, and river rock together.
And this last card is right out of the Idea Book and Catalog from a few years ago. I received most of the supplies in a few different grab bags we've been able to order from SU!.

Spring

Today I wanted to post the cute bunny project we did at my last class. It uses the Fancy Favor box and inside was a cello bag of either m&m's or jelly beans. Isn't it cute?
These next 2 projects were done yesterday at my Mother's Day class. Used the fancy favor box again and put a great Fun Flowers die cut flower on the front. Then we made a couple 3x3 cards to go inside. The little gift cards were right out of the Stampin Success magazine.
