Happy Sunday! It has been absolutely BEAUTIFUL here in Oregon these last few days. My fingers are crossed it stays this way. I have been taking advantage of the sunny skies and getting out there walking as much as I can to train for the 1/2 marathon I am walking in 2 short weeks. Unfortunately I got a HUGE blister on my ankle yesterday due to a rather large hole in the heel of my shoe that I was unaware of.........NOT HAPPY!! The shoes were only a month old so I promptly took them back to the running store and exchanged them for a new pair but I am worried this sucker on my ankle will not heel in time for the race. Somehow I will have to power thru it! Wish me luck!!
Here is the last card we did at my recent card class. Thought this was a perfect card for Mother's Day. A few of the ladies unfortunately do not have their mother's here anymore so they all stamped Happy Birthday on it. The cardstock colors are Regal Rose, Lucky Limeade, and Whisper White. The ink colors are Regal Rose, Lucky Limeade, Rose Red, and So Saffron. The stamp set is Bloomin Marvelous from the recent Sale-a-bration promo. Most of the ladies who come to my classes are not interested in purchasing any products- they just come to make cards- so they could care less if I use retired products, papers, ink colors, etc. Which honestly - sometimes makes things much easier! Especially with sentiments. The butterflies were punched out using the Bitty Butterfly punch in the spring mini. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Pinwheel card
Hello everyone. Just finished my stamp class and this card was by far the favorite of everyone!! Sounds like most of the gals are only sending it to someone VERY special or they are not going to send it at all! hee hee!! The card definitely took the longest to make but was certainly worth it. I CASE'd the card from splotchdesign.blogspot.com and just changed it up a little bit with different embossing folders.I used the perfect polka dots as well as the stripes embossing folders. The pinwheels are made using Polka Dot Parade DSP and die cutting them with the new Pinwheel sizzlits die with the Big Shot. They are finished off in the middle with a mini brad. I used small glue dots to adhere the tooth picks at the bottom underneath the Gumball Green ribbon. Then I attached the pinwheels using a Stampin' Dimensional on the top of the tooth pick. Some of the gals used the Little Leaves sizzlit in gumball green but many ended up leaving it off. The sentiment is stamped using Basic Black and it is from the Wishes your Way set in the Spring Mini. Was a perfect spring card to make today.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks so much for looking!

Butterfies
Good morning from rainy Oregon. Was such a bummer to look outside this morning and see icky grey rain. Hopefully the weather will turn and my son can get in some baseball this weekend. We'll see!!
Here is a card I made the other day that I CASE'd out of the catty. Thought about using it this weekend at my card class but decided it just wasn't up to par for me. I like it but I don't LOVE it, ya know what I mean?? I haven't used this beautiful background stamp much and I have been trying to find a card to use it on. It's called Parlor Prints. The ink used is Bashful Blue and I have to be honest here and say that I am not sad that it is retiring soon. I used to use it all of the time but ever since Pool Party came out - that has been my go-to blue and I haven't used this color in almost 2 years!!. It does go beautifully with the Rose Red and Certainly Celery butterflies I punched out of the Color Collection Designer Series Paper packs. I used the Scallop Trim Border on some Rose Red cardstock and mounted that behind the piece I background stamped. Added different sized rhinestones for some sparkle and there you go.
I hope you all have a great weekend. I will post more cards next week from my upcoming class.

Create a Cupcake
Hello!! So sorry it has been several weeks since my last post. Between spring break, baseball for my son and basketball for my daughter - its been fairly busy around here. I got the chance to get a few cards made last week for my upcoming class this weekend so I thought I would post one today.
This card was made using the Create a Cupcake set which is one of my favorites. And how awesome that its a card without a cupcake! I love it when you can use a stamp set for multiple different things. The colors used are Always Artichoke, Tangerine Tango, Soft Suede, and the retiring River Rock. The ribbon is the 1/2 in scallop dots ribbon in Tangerine Tango. I used my markers and colored the flower stamp with the Tangerine Tango and Always Artichoke and stamped the image 6 times reapplying ink each time. I stamped these images directly onto the whisper white cardstock after I had punched a piece out with the 2 3/8 scalloped circle punch. The flower pot was stamped in Soft Suede and then punched out using the Cupcake Builder punch and then adhered to the scalloped circle with a dimensional. Then the scalloped circle was adhered with dimensionals over the top of the ribbon. The nice thing about this card is that you can stamp just about any greeting on the bottom - it fits for several different themes. Some of the ladies attending the class will probably make this a Mother's Day card.
Hope you all have a great day!
